I've always loved gardening, learning much from my mother and grandfather. I started mainly with perennials until a few years ago when I got into daylilies. I've been told I caught the addiction.
In 1991 two of us re-activated the Greenfield Garden Club. This is where I met Ken and Carol. They loved flowers and herbs for cutting and drying. They had land but not enough hands. I had hands but little land. Hence, we combined and are now two separate gardens in one
Glenbrook Gardens has flowers and herbs for fresh cut and dry bouquets and herbal products. Silver Gardens has Daylilies. The gardens are set back from the main road with large lawns leading the way. At the end of the drive the area opens to the Lavender beds, the cut flower and perennial beds with a background of rows of daylilies and green hydrangeas. It's a peaceful place.
I have over 425 different daylilies and seedlings. Hybridizing has caught my interest but I haven't started yet. There are so many beautiful colors and the easy care of daylilies can not be beat. Oh yes, I guess I have caught the addiction.
We hope you can make it to the Open House Sales, The Daylily and Arts Festival or join us for the series of workshops during the season. We also enjoy having groups at other times. Please call or email us about a private visit or take a look at our event listing.
Happy Gardening
